Legacy Collective

This past weekend I went to The Legacy Expo partnership gathering and I am so full up from all the passion, knowledge, and skillshare that happened there! It was co-hosted by Michael Brooke of The Endless Wave Skateboarding, Death & Spirituality and Philotimo Life’s Maria Vassiliou.

Highlights include

Subbing to Philotimo’s Podcast https://www.philotimolife.com/podcast and getting to know Maria.

Chatting with Heather Kirk from dameslfydeathdoula.com about the importance of mobile hospice in the future.

Learning about Cardinal Funeral Homes LTD in downtown Toronto with Cindy Ciampa (and how she knew she wanted to work in the death industry since she was a pre-teen!) and her hand outs on planning for your funeral and death care (I really liked the Bereavement Authority of Ontario thebao.ca booklet she gave me on A Guide to Death Care in Ontario).

Getting a copy of Do Not Ignore Your Mortality by Greg Barnsdale about practical advice from a funeral + financial insider.

Subbing to The Executor Help Podcast with David E. Edey all about what to expect legally at the end of life as an Executor.

And hearing from participants where they are at in their practice and business; one had just come from the End Well conference in LA! That sounded like the FanExpo of death and dying industry and now I really want to go. Others were talking about the inevitable “silver wave” or as I’m reading it across the internet as “the silver tsunami” that’s about to crash down on our society and economy… we are needing more death education and spaces to have heavy conversations.

I’m here to hold that space and create a container for the heavy death and dying topics, so it doesn’t have to be hard on top of the heaviness. I hope you find the above resources helpful, and let me know if you have any questions about having hard heavy conversations.
