Speaker

Adrianna has led workshops, talk-backs, seminars, as well as been on TV shows, conference panels, podcasts, and the radio discussing topics that highlight her lived experience as a suicide loss survivor, death doula, and grief educator.

She is always ready to talk about the scary stuff, because when you talk about it becomes not-so-scary after all!

Suggested Speaking Topics :

Becoming a Death Doula: through loss and death experiences, Adrianna was propelled into learning more about death work and soul companionship; hear about her journey from bereaved to anam cara, from grief to psychopomp.

Grief Journey and Bereavement: Adrianna wrote a one-woman show “Everything But the Cat…” in 2011 and toured it across Ontario for a decade. Listen to how storytelling and community was a key element in metabolizing her grief. Frustrated or find the five stages of grief restrictive? That’s because it’s not meant for the bereaved; hear about how metabolizing grief is a personal yet universal experience.

The Sacred Magic of Death: Western society has all but eliminated ritual around most all life moments, belittling them with mockery and keeping the capitalist part to sell cards and cakes. But what would happen if we invited ritual back into our lives and fused our own traditions with those of our ancestors?

What is My Legacy: building meaning in life to have a good death. What does it mean to have a ‘good death”? Is it a fully checked off bucket-list? Is it seeing everyone you love before you die at a living funeral? Is it compiling post-mortem gifts to be received once you are gone? Is it the choice of MAiD in the face of terminal illness?

Suicide Alertness: as a suicide loss survivor and suicide safeTALK instructor for over a decade, Adrianna is always open to discuss how you too can become suicide alert and build confidence in holding space for those experiencing suicidal ideation.
